Enjoyable Estes Park Attractions

Enjoy your Estes Park lodging experience at Alpine Trail Ridge Inn. A variety of Estes Park attractions are available throughout the year. The month of May is a pleasant time for a getaway to the mountains. As we transition from winter to spring, the weather in the town of Estes Park can range from crystal blue skies to a blanket of Christmas snow, which often melts by noon. While much of the high country elevations of 10,000 feet and above are still buried, evidence of the thaw can be seen in streams of water flowing from beneath the snow.

Although trails such as Gem Lake, with great views of Longs Peak and the Estes Valley, are likely to be snow free, many trails taking off from the popular Bear Lake will have plenty of snow for a snowshoeing adventure. Snowshoeing is one of the most popular attractions during this time of the year. Snowshoeing through the wooded trails is a peaceful way to de-stress from the pressures of daily life. Snowshoes can be rented at several local shops including Outdoor World and The Mountain Shop. Rental rates are reasonable and allow for extended winter fun well past the time the slopes must close.

The wildlife, lots of Elk, can be seen wandering around town and through the meadows near the motel. As calving season approaches, be careful, view the wildlife from a distance. The mommas are very protective!

Shops and restaurants are open to balance out your stay. Have a couple of good meals and take home some souvenirs.

As May approaches and you ponder your vacations and getaways, think about Alpine Trail Ridge Inn. We are only 1 1/2 miles from the south entrance of the national park and 1 1/2 miles from downtown Estes Park. Please refer to the activities listed above for additional information.
