What to do in Estes Park in November

Estes Park, Colorado

As autumn begins its transition into winter in Estes Park, a sense of quiet and calmness descends across the valley. Gone is the hustle and bustle of the summer crowds and enter in the serene surroundings of snow-capped mountain peaks, fewer crowds, and the allure of the holiday season. But what is there to do in Estes Park in November? Well, there is plenty! From wine tasting and shopping to Thanksgiving feasts, here’s what to do in Estes Park in November.

Wine tasting at Snowy Peaks Winery

Spend the evening warming up with a wine tasting at Snowy Peaks Winery. Offering a variety of local wines, all handcrafted at their facility, Snowy Peaks Winery uses grapes from Colorado’s Palisade and Paonia vineyards. Grab a few bottles to take home with you or enjoy at your room at Alpine Trail Ridge Inn.

If wine isn’t your thing, check out Estes Park’s local distillery, Elkins Distillery, or a local brewery, Rock Cut Brewery.

Take a walk around Lake Estes

Lake Estes.

Get outdoors and enjoy fall in Estes Park with a walk around Lake Estes. While you might not find November the best time to get out on the water, the lake offers a 3.75-mile trail that circles the lake. Enjoy views of the Continental Divide, wildlife viewing, and of course pristine lake views.

Shop local art galleries

Estes Park is home to over 30 art galleries, with its largest concentration downtown. From mountain blown glass to photography and art studios, there is plenty here to get your holiday shopping done early and bring something home for yourself.

Visit Chapel on the Rocks

Located just outside Estes Park, in Allenspark, stands the beautiful Chapel on the Rocks. Set amongst the beautiful landscape of the Rocky Mountains, with Mount Meeker setting the stage, Chapel on the Rocks seemingly blends in with the bedrock beneath, making for one spectacular scene. While viewing from a distance is stunning, a peek inside reveals an awe-inspiring picture of Italian statues and fanciful stonework.
